FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Strength Performance

All of the papers manufactured at KapStone Roanoke Rapids are made from renewable resources using 100% southern softwood fiber that is sourced in compliance with the requirements of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). The long fibers combined with manufacturing excellence provide a base for superior strength products to meet our customer’s packaging needs

Consistent Runnability & Uniform Profiles

We take pride in reducing variability across the entire manufacturing process, which in turn creates efficiencies during our customer’s converting process. Overall process variability reduction supports excellent machine direction profiles. In addition, intense focus on paper making process controls drive superior cross direction profiles.

Wet Strength Chemistry

Chemical resins are added to these papers at various levels to impart strength when the products are wet. This property is measured by wet tensile strength. The resin addition is dependent on the product application. Our products range from 17% - 27% wet tensile strength.

Printing Capabilities

Our paper’s high natural sizing along with our clean, smooth, and low lint surface creates an optimal sheet for uniform ink absorption.

SPECIFICATIONS

Our quality policy is to consistently supply our customers with the products and services that meet or exceed mutually agreed upon quality and value. Key critical properties dependent on the specialty application are wet tensile, weight, moisture, Gurley porosity, sizing, mullen, smoothness, COF (Coefficient of Friction), taber abrasion, and tear and tensile. Uniform Freight Classification (UFC) specifications apply to our Multiwall wet strength products only.
