  • Implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) in 2001
  • 71% of steam generated by biomass fuels.
  • 78% of electricity used is generated on-site (45% from biomass).
  • Reduction in Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) air emissions: 35% reduction since 2004.
  • Cluster Rule Compliance 2001-2007— Early MACT I Phase 1 implementation (1991-1994) to provide a benefit for the community with improved odor control.
  • Recent Maximum Achievable Control Technology for total reduced sulfur compounds and particulate matter reductions:
    – (MACT I Phase 2-2006 = $26.1 million.)
    – (MACT II -2004 = $1.6 million.)
  • Environmental Staff of four, State Certified Lab, treating 24.7 MGD wastewater (Design 38 MGD), monitoring combustion and production sources, process loss minimization, solid waste management, beneficial reuse of waste, small quantity hazardous waste generator.
  • Active Community Retiree Advisory Council.
